This letter Written at Buffalo(found in Albert Flanders 1919 diary)

Dear Don,

It is with the greatest of pleasure that I enclose here with a check for eighteen ($18.00) dollars, balance of my obligation to you ward, dating back some months.

It is my earnest request that you turn in the check at your earliest opportunity, as I balance my books every month, and would like to have the cancelled check in at that time.

Had a mighty pleasant visit at home. Should like to go oftener. As my store of this world’s wisdom increases, I count it one of many things to be thankful for, that we as brothers may ever be counted as friends. May it be ever thus and more. Family ties and affections are one of the things that keep me from drifting far away.

It would please Clare and I, for she thinks a great deal of you, if sometimes you could find it possible to drop in to our home, for any length of time, and make it your home for the time you might be with us.

Don’t forget.

Give my love to all the folks.

Ernest
